The Solar Pyramid Well it looks like the Solar Pyramid is not going to be built in Derbyshire after all. This is really disappointing news, as a fan of modern art, sculpture and a sci-fi nut, I personally am left feeling that once again "nothing ever happens around here". According to the BBC News website last week the Solar Pyramid is possibly going to be built in Dorset instead - but this was not confirmed by the Borough of Poole council. Click Here The Dorset Echo ran a piece the next day which stated "The Solar Pyramid, a 45-metre-tall tourist attraction proposed for Harbourside Park, has attracted more thumbs down than up." The overall consensus in Poole seems to be that although some people were in favour of the Solar Pyramid, the site chosen was not appropriate. However the next day the Dorset council announced that "The council has not pre-determined a location for the Solar Pyramid proposal." So who knows what is happening...
